Farkhor, also known as Parkhar, is a city located in southwestern Tajikistan within the Khatlon Region. It serves as the capital of the Farkhor District and is situated along the border with Afghanistan.
The town has a population of approximately 25,300 residents. Notable landmarks in the vicinity include the Farkhor Air Base, which is located about 4 km southwest of the city. The region experiences extreme heat, with a record high temperature of 45.1 °C (113.2 °F) recorded in July 2025.
