Zaranj is a city located in southwestern Afghanistan. It serves as the capital of Nimruz Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Zaranj District.
The city has an estimated population of 72,272 people. The current mayor of Zaranj is Maulvi Salahuddin Mumtaz, who succeeded his predecessor, Maulvi Nooruddin Hamza.
