Karukh is a town and the administrative center of the Karukh District in the Herat Province of Afghanistan. Situated at an altitude of 1,320 meters, it is located approximately 50 kilometers northeast of the city of Herat.
The town has a population of more than 18,800 people. It is historically noted for its busy bazaar, which has been consistently documented in travelogues over several centuries. Additionally, the town houses the shrine of Alla Berdi, who was a Sufi ul-Islam.
