Ghazni is a city located in southeastern Afghanistan. It serves as the capital of Ghazni Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Ghazni District. The city has an estimated population of 205,965 people.

Historically, the city has been known by various names, including Ghaznayn, Ghazna, and Ghuznee. In ancient times, it was referred to as Alexandria in Opiana. Mawlawi Muhammad Nabi Hamzah currently serves as the mayor of the city.
