Maymana, also spelled as Maimana, is a city located in northern Afghanistan. It serves as the capital of Faryab Province and falls within the jurisdiction of the Maymana District. The city has an estimated population of 108,049 people.
Geographically, the city is situated on the Maymana River, which is a tributary of the Murghab River. It is located approximately 400 km (250 mi) northwest of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The current mayor of the city is Damla Mohibullah.
