Sharm El Sheikh, also rendered as Sharm el-Sheikh or Charm el Sheikh, is an Egyptian city situated on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. It is located within the South Sinai Governorate along the coastal strip of the Red Sea in Asia.
The city serves as the administrative hub for the South Sinai Governorate, which encompasses the mountainous interior regions of St. Catherine and Mount Sinai, as well as the smaller coastal towns of Dahab and Nuweiba. As of 2017, the population of Sharm El Sheikh was approximately 77,000.
