Ras Al Khaimah, often referred to as RAK, is an industrial port city located in the United Arab Emirates. It serves as the capital and largest city of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. As of 2025, the city had a population of 191,753 people, making it the sixth-most populous city in the UAE following Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Ajman.
The city is geographically divided into two distinct parts by a creek: the old town situated in the west and Al Nakheel located in the east. Historically, the town serves as the successor to Julfar, which was an important port and trading hub during the Islamic era.
