Ajman is a city located in the United Arab Emirates, serving as the capital of the Emirate of Ajman. It is situated along the coast, bounded by the Persian Gulf to the west and surrounded by the Emirate of Sharjah on its land borders.
The city ranks as the fifth-largest and fifth-most populous urban center in the United Arab Emirates, following Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Al Ain. It forms an integral part of the larger Dubai–Sharjah–Ajman metropolitan area.
