Al Ain is a city located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi within the United Arab Emirates. It serves as the seat of the administrative division known as the Al Ain Region and is bordered to the east by the Omani town of Al-Buraimi.
The city is the largest inland city in the Emirates, ranking as the fourth-largest city in the country and the second-largest in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Geographically, it sits at one point of a triangle formed by freeways connecting Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai, with each city situated approximately 130 kilometres from the others.
