Overview
Cyprus, officially the Republic of Cyprus, is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, located off the coast of the Levant mainland in West Asia. Although geographically part of Asia, Cyprus is politically and culturally closely tied to Europe and is a member state of the European Union. The island is the third largest and third most populous island in the Mediterranean Sea.
